Helping at the home was a very cool experience! I really enjoyed the task I was doing, which was restoring the painted design on the ceiling. The hosts were kind and welcoming. We ate meals together with the other volunteers, they were able to drop us off at the bus stop on our days off, and they gave some recommendations of things to do. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and the location is quite peaceful. I would recommend spending some time here!

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I loved it. I did things I'd never thought I'd do, met people from all over, hiked and visited towns. The food cooked by H was great, making sure to keep us well fed after a hard day's work. S knows what he wants and has a vision for the Villa and it's admirable all the time and effort he has put into it. It's true that the current state of the Villa is not suitable for most people in terms of commodities, but I'm a very flexible person and didn't mind the conditions. I felt thoroughly rewarded after finishing the jobs that were assigned to me.

I had a wonderful stay at the home. It was my first Worldpackers experience, so I was a little nervous. However, S and the open communication put me at ease. The daily routine was always structured, and we were regularly asked if we were comfortable. Our well-being and comfort were also very important to S at work. Open communication allowed us to help decide on which projects we wanted to help with. There was also a very strong sense of community through shared meals, sitting together, and going for walks. I would 100% recommend it!

During my two weeks at the villa I really felt like part of their family. Considering the work, there was some flexibility in choosing the task, mine wasn't physical. It's quite rewarding to do the work actually, especially when you can see the vision. I appreciate their clear communication about the job and living conditions and them frequently checking in on our wellbeing. Really enjoyed the tranquillity, stunning views and amazing walks in the area. I loved my time there, grazie mille per tutto! For any more questions, feel free to reach out :)

Had a great time at the home! I learned so many new skills while rebuilding the villa and if you enjoy nature, this is a perfect experience for you. It was a lot colder than I expected during my time there in March, but they had let me know to prepare and layer up. The views are even more beautiful than any picture you can take and getting to know the family was so lovely. Anyone would have a wonderful experience at the home!

This was a really great experience all around. We worked in a very pretty location and everything we had to was very clear. The hosts were very kind and helpful and accommodated for all our essential needs.

Hours and tasks were as agreed on so no problems there. House was comfortable and had everything needed provided. I had trouble getting on with the host and got the impression he did not want us there, barely speaking to me for the first few days and treating conversations as if they were business meetings . The other volunteers made the experience better and the location is beautiful.

In this beautiful location, the host is truly building a stunning home! Unfortunately, the experience is not one I would recommend to those looking to live comfortably… The beds were very uncomfortable, and the bedding was not adequate to keep us warm at night. Pairing this with no hot water meant you had to choose between being warm or being clean. There is no fridge, so the food is basic and lacking nutrients and protein. Although this experience was not for me, the surrounding area is beautiful and the work is rewarding.

- Thank you for your feedback. However, for clarity: the villa’s rustic lifestyle, amenities, and remote setting are clearly explained in advance.
- We do have hot water, and most volunteers find the beds comfortable. We also exceed Worldpackers’ food guidelines, offering quality meals / drinks which this couple enjoyed without complaint.
- We’re proud of the respectful, honest experience we offer.
Their review is misleading and disappointing and regreatble at how two faced they were :(.

It is so beautiful at the villa, the views are amazing! However, be prepared to stay in an old building like they said. Our water heater broke so we had cold showers, and the kitchen was quite run-down. With no heating, it did get quite cold at night. The hosts were welcoming. I enjoyed the meals they provided! I will say that you are held to a high standard of work with them monitoring your every step which can be stressful. It was difficult to go out and explore because you need a car to leave the town. Most of the time I was so tired that I didn't have the energy to leave anyways.

In terms of the volunteer experience, we do expect a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this volunteer's contribution didn’t meet the standards we uphold — the work was often lacking in effort and quality. While she did seem to enjoy the food and being taken around, we believe volunteering is a two-way exchange and expect more active participation in return.
