The experience

Hello Traveller!

My name is Yani and i am from Cuba. I live with my Husband Tony and with my loved son Anthony. We live in the center of Habana in a big spacious house. I am running a farm in the center of Habana. Before the place was for throwing trash, but now it's a unique green oasis among beautiful houses in Cuban style. I am a warm person, so are Tony and Anthony. I have a passion for cooking. So come and live the Habana experience!

What you offer

15 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Requirements

Intermediate Spanish or Intermediate English

Between 18 and 60 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

You will live at my house. I will cook for us all. My house has been a place for travellers for the last 8 years. Therefore we have a good understanding of hosting. You can fx watch movies, ride the bike and play chess with Tony in your free time. The farm work is about 2-3 hours from monday to friday. So there will be good time to explore Cuba!

Activities & Shift

Help us with a lot of things at the farm! My goal with the project is to make it a place where young local students can come and have a healthy cheap meal. There is a lot to do when maintaining a farm with fruits such as maracuyá, banana and guyaba.
