The experience

Join our friendly team at two vibrant hostels in Kings Cross! Help with reception (evenings), housekeeping (making beds, daytime), and cleaning kitchens, bathrooms and common areas. Free shared accommodation, Wi-Fi, and a social, supportive vibe. Minimum 3-week stay, good English and positive attitude required. Perfect for meeting new people and creating epic memories in the heart of Sydney!

What you offer

14 hours of help per week

Night Shift: Help with night shift tasks and create a relaxing environment for guests.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 39 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Upon arrival, we require a deposit of one weeks accommodation to be prepaid (approximately $230AUD). Upon fulfilment of your shifts, this amount is refunded to you.

Activities & Shift

Housekeeping hours:
- 10am - 2pm
- 8am - 5pm

Common areas:
- 9pm - 12am
- 8am - 5pm

Reception hours:
- 3.30pm - 12am
- 12.00pm - 6.30pm

Your volunteer shifts are typically a varied range of these based on the hostels needs. However, you will be able to speak to the team of your preference during your time with us.

Rules

Insurance
- Urban Nomad holds public liability insurance.
- Volunteers are responsible for their own medical, accident, and travel insurance.

Visa Compliance
- You confirm that you hold a valid visa that permits voluntary work in Australia.
- Urban Nomad is not responsible for any breach of your visa conditions.

Termination
- This agreement may be ended by either party at any time.
- Volunteers giving 7 days’ notice are eligible for a refund of any unused prepaid accommodation.
- The hostel reserves the right to terminate the agreement without notice due to misconduct or failure to meet expectations.
