Program Details

We have a variety of outdoor projects happening, and we’ll chat with you first to find out what you're most interested in and what suits your skills. In summer, it gets very hot, so we tend to work early in the morning while it's cooler — especially for physical tasks.

You'll often be working alongside us, and we’re happy to teach new skills as we go. We want you to leave feeling like you’ve achieved something and contributed meaningfully.

Sometimes things pull us in different directions (it’s a busy place!), so we really value people who can stay focused and keep going when needed. There's also plenty of informal interaction with glamping guests — the space is always alive with activity and creativity.

Activities & Shift

Every day here is a little different! We often shift priorities depending on the weather and what needs doing most urgently — especially during the hot summer months. That said, we always work with a short-term focus and a bigger-picture plan. In the busy summer period there's quite a lot of day to day help needed running the glamping tents, but we also have projects going on too which include:

Finishing a second outdoor bathroom
Building a wooden deck beside the swimming pool
Improving our greywater irrigation system
Upgrading paths and the driveway
Building small retaining walls
Setting up our CNC machine in a temporary fabrication space
Seasonal planting / gardening tasks

There’s always something to do, and we try to match tasks to your skills and interests wherever possible. Flexibility and a can-do attitude go a long way here!

Rules

Respect the space and people – we’re a family home, a worksite, and a guest place all in one!

Be flexible and proactive – some days are unpredictable, and your independence really helps!
