Program Details

As a photographer for our project, you’ll help us visually document real life in Guanico — from local people and nature to rooms, food, and surf scenes. We don’t micromanage, but we do expect professionalism: show up on time, communicate clearly, and work independently with honesty and care.

In return, you’ll be provided an accommodation, with meals included and access to surfboards. You’ll have plenty of time to explore, shoot creatively, and enjoy the slow pace of life here. This is a hands-on role where your work will directly support a local, community-based project. Passion, good energy, and a love for real, meaningful photography are essential.

Activities & Shift

Activities may include:
• Photographing rooms, cabins, and shared spaces
• Capturing local life, nature, food, and surf moments
• Shooting surf sessions and guest experiences
• Visiting nearby spots for content (e.g. other beaches or local businesses)
• Editing and organizing photos
• Weekly check-ins to review and select images together

Shifts:
There’s no fixed schedule — hours are flexible and based on light, surf sessions, and site visits. Some days you’ll be out shooting, others spent editing or reviewing content at the surf camp with us. We’ll often work together on selecting the best shots and planning next steps. Expect delays and last-minute changes — this is Panama, and things run on “Panamanian time.” Patience, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit are essential.

Rules

We ask for honesty, respect, and clear communication. Be on time for agreed shoots and open to feedback during our review sessions. Treat the people and places you photograph with care — we value authenticity and trust. No photos of guests or locals should be shared publicly without permission. Keep shared spaces clean, use equipment responsibly, and respect the relaxed but respectful vibe of the surf camp.

On arrival, we’ll go through a few basic house rules with you. These include no parties in the house, no stealing, and no damaging or misusing equipment or property. It’s a laid-back environment, but we expect everyone to be responsible and help keep things running smoothly.
