Program Details

Volunteer Vietnam provides social care programs for about 100 vulnerable individuals, including orphans, abandoned children, the elderly, disabled, neurodivergent & PTSD survivors within social protection centers in Da Nang City.
We lead with compassion and empathy, as we believe this is the primary need of those whom we are working with. Our communities have suffered psychological (and sometimes physical) trauma, so we ask that volunteers come into this opportunity with an open mind and heart.

We strive for our program to be as integrated as possible, from occupational therapy, mental health support, physical movement, teaching languages, play, feeding assistance, and more. Our goal is to improve physical and mental wellbeing in more ways than one.

Upon arrival, you will undergo an orientation with our program coordinators and learn from the expertise of our staff & volunteers. If you have a background in social work, childcare, elderly care, or disability care, we highly encourage you to apply your knowledge and experience to our activities and to share them with us. We are always seeking ways to grow our program & expand our impact.

Each week, you will work approximately 15 hours with daily split shifts (M-F), all assigned in our Volunteer schedule. During your free time, you will have the opportunity to rest, work, explore Vietnam, and whatever else you please.

We provide high-quality accommodations, three daily meals, spaces designed for remote work, with a flexible, planned-out schedule, and time allotted for work/rest in between, so that you can be as refreshed as possible for your shifts - and enjoy all that Da Nang has to offer you.

Activities & Shift

We coordinate our volunteer schedules a week in advance, which you will have access to via WhatsApp. Volunteers cycle throughout a variety of roles as we support seven different social care centers in Da Nang, with the guidance of our staff. Your specific interests and skills are considered when assigning shifts, we are here to curate this experience to the best of our abilities.
