Enjoy the simple rural life in a small seaside town in Okayama


The experience

Hi, we have a community space with lots of interesting people and need someone to help out with language and cultural exchange. It's about 2 hours a day, or 10 hours a week. In exchange, we can offer accommodation in a private room, or share a room if there are two of you. Meals are your responsibility (there is a kitchen, fridge etc for your use). The house is on the water at Hinase, Okayama. 5 minutes walk from the station.


What you offer

12 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Parties: Get free entrance for the best parties in town.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

You can see life in a smallish city in Japan and learn some Japanese from the locals in the settings of cross cultural session.You will be sharing your culture.Hinase is a different side of Japan than the big cities, so the cultural experience is much more authentic.


Activities & Shift

Duty will be...either

Maintaining and cleaning (About 2 hours ) anytime between 13:00. and 15:00

Culture Exchange Session
1.5 hours per session, Monday-Friday night.

You will be talking with locals ( kids old to adult)in a casual setting sharing and exchanging Culture, etc.

You are welcome to practice Japanese.
You can learn a lot about Japan from the locals.
Required:
Comfortable to talk with people in English( does not need to be native, but at least conversation level)

Local* English level is beginner.
