Program Details

Volunteers typically start their day around 7 AM with breakfast, followed by morning volunteer activities from 8 AM to noon. These activities usually involve teaching English, literacy support, or helping with various community projects. After a shared lunch break, volunteers continue their work in the early afternoon, assisting with after-school programs, workshops, or other philanthropic tasks. Late afternoons are reserved for cultural exchange and free time, where volunteers can learn traditional dances, visit local markets, or simply relax. Evenings include dinner featuring local dishes like nsima and freshly caught fish, followed by free time to socialize, connect with locals, or rest.

Throughout the week, volunteers engage in focused activities from Tuesday through Thursday, while Mondays are dedicated to orientation and goal setting for new arrivals. Fridays often include special community events or workshops to celebrate local culture and foster connection. Saturdays offer opportunities for cultural immersion and excursions, such as trips to Lake Malawi or participation in traditional music and dance. Sundays are reserved as rest days, allowing volunteers time for personal reflection, relaxation, or independent exploration. Regular weekly check-ins ensure that volunteers receive support, can share feedback, and help tailor their experience to be both meaningful and impactful
