What you offer

Music:
Perform to entertain guests, children or local communities.

Description:
volunteers or intern are encouraged to contribute 17 $ per day which goes towards the accommodation and three meals per day and also security.

Program Details
Medical: We partner with local hospitals and health clinics and provide interns who have the necessary medical training with the opportunity to get acquainted and help face the challenges of health issues in Malawi.
Currently we have a number of departments which are open to interns help

Activities & Shift
works during the day time from 8 AM to 3 PM from monday to friday.
Prepare.
1. copy of student ID or introductory letter from university. For doctors, share your certificates.
2. copy of your passport.
3. letter from you, stating the number of days you want to stay and department you would like to
get rotate more.
4. Bring your own
– Lab coat, or Scrubs , stethoscope, pen torch, otoscopy any equipment you may need.
– Notepads and stationarity
– Alcohol gel, hand sanitiser
– Small first aid kit
– Disposable items including gloves, goggles if possible.
– mosquito repellent, anti-malaria tablets

Rules
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in your field in a different culture where practices may differ to what you're used to. We have a variety of Medical placements available in Malawi. You could work in a hospital or a clinic.
You can work in a variety of difference medical departments, where you can either assist or shadow the staff members. The type of work you will be allocated will depend to an extent on your own abilities and capabilities, which is understandable given that you will be dealing with patient health and safety.
You will be involved in the day-to-day running of hospitals and clinics directly assisting the
doctors and nurses. If you are planning to specialise in a particular field of medicine in your studies, we can arrange to place you in a relevant department to ensure that we benefit from your knowledge in your field of study and you also learning from our local professionals. This project is open to anyone who wants to help improve the lives of the poor in Africa.
Your responsibilities will include some of the following: Going forward rounds with doctors to examine cases and determine the next line of action, following up cases and ensuring that proper medication is dispensed, helping to take patients' histories and subsequent diagnosis, helping with general consultation activities. Observing procedures, undertake office administration, health data recording and storage, taking care of patients reporting for out-patient care or on admission Changing bandages and monitoring recovery, checking blood pressure, weighing babies helping
with first aid treatment
The program in Malawi offers healthcare and clinical experience in challenging conditions,
focusing on tropical medicine and limited resources.
