Program Details
The pioneering Sumatra Projects are focused on protecting the turtle population, coral reefs, and emphasizing the importance of maintaining a clean ocean in the fishing village of Nagari Sungai Pinang. This initiative aims to educate local residents on ecological matters, in addition to focusing on conservation efforts. This projects founded in 2016.
This endeavour is a thorough plan that intertwines preservation work with educating the local community. The project is centred on safeguarding the turtle population, the coral reefs surrounding Nagari Sungai Pinang, and clearing the ocean of plastic in the fishing village, which depends greatly on the well-being of its nearby marine ecosystem. The project uses different methods to safeguard turtles, such as monitoring their breeding grounds, safeguarding hatchlings, and rehabilitating wounded turtles. Efforts like coral planting and cleaning up reefs and oceans are implemented to protect coral reefs and ensure the well-being of these important ecosystems.
Turtles and coral reefs are crucial parts of the marine ecosystem. Turtles are essential for keeping seagrass beds and coral reefs healthy, which in turn support a variety of marine species. Nevertheless, human activities pose a threat to these species, highlighting the importance of conservation efforts such as this project.
Our project stands out because it emphasizes community participation and education. The project's goal is to raise awareness about environmental issues among the residents of Nagari Sungai Pinang. This is accomplished through a variety of educational programs and workshops that educate community members on the significance of turtles and coral reefs, the dangers they encounter, and ways to protect them.
This serves as a great demonstration
