Help create a world where menstruation is not a barrier to education. Join us in providing reusable sanitary pads and menstrual health education to schoolgirls in Mzuzu, Malawi.

As a volunteer, you'll be part of a meaningful movement that empowers girls to stay in school with dignity, confidence, and hope. Through workshops, distribution programs, and youth leadership training, you’ll directly impact lives 🌍


What you offer

17 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 17 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Materials for volunteer activities

Description: volunteers or interns are encouraged to contribute 17$ per day which goes towards accommodation, three meals per day as well as security.


What you get

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Free Parties: Get free entrance for the best parties in town.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Pub Crawls: Be a part of our pub crawls at local bars!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Yoga classes: Take free yoga classes at our place.

Surf lessons: Take free surf classes at the local beaches.

Dance classes: Take free dance classes at our place.

Permaculture Course: Take part in our Permaculture course for free.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 80 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

As a volunteer, your contributions will support both the immediate needs and long-term empowerment of schoolgirls in the region. Your work will be hands-on, educational, and community-centered.

🌸 How You’ll Make a Difference:
Reusable Pad Distribution
Assist in distributing eco-friendly sanitary pads to students, ensuring girls can attend school comfortably and consistently.

Educational Workshops
Help lead sessions on menstrual hygiene, body literacy, and self-care — breaking taboos and building confidence.

Training Youth Leaders
Support local youth in becoming community educators, ensuring sustainability and peer-to-peer empowerment.

Awareness Campaigns
Work on creative initiatives like posters, school talks, and community forums to normalize conversations around menstruation.

Monitoring & Evaluation
Gather feedback from students and schools to help track the program’s impact and propose improvements.

🫱 No medical background needed just compassion, initiative, and the willingness to learn and support others.


Activities & Shift

You’ll volunteer around 17 hours per week, with two full days off to rest or explore Malawi.

Activities may include:

School visits for pad distribution
Workshop preparation and facilitation
Planning awareness materials
Supporting youth mentor meetings
Collecting stories, photos, and testimonials (with consent)

🕒 Help is generally scheduled in the mornings or early afternoons, with flexibility for school programming.
