Become part of the ESN Oktoberfest experience as a Campsite Manager! You’ll work alongside a co-manager to lead an international team of volunteers in running our lively campsite during one of Europe’s biggest festivals. Your tasks will include planning shifts, distributing work, managing bookings and payments, coordinating with the back office, and assisting with guest reception and housekeeping. You'll also help with the setup, decoration, and breakdown of tents and ensure proper use and maintenance of all materials and facilities. It’s a hands-on role that requires responsibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude. In return, you'll receive free accommodation in a staff tent, three meals a day, and time off to enjoy Munich and Oktoberfest. This is a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, meet people from around the world, and help create an unforgettable atmosphere for fellow students and travelers. Come lead the fun and make Oktoberfest truly unforgettable!
Activities & Shift
As one of the Campsite Managers, your day-to-day will be dynamic and varied. You'll work in rotating shifts alongside your co-manager to cover all key areas of the campsite. Activities include leading volunteer briefings, planning and adjusting shift schedules, checking in guests, answering questions at reception (day and night), and stepping in to support housekeeping and general campsite cleanliness.
You’ll also oversee the setup and breakdown of tents, help decorate communal areas, manage the use and care of materials, and ensure smooth communication with the back office. Some shifts are more hands-on, while others require coordination and supervision — flexibility is key. Shifts will be fairly distributed between you and your co-manager to allow for both work and well-deserved time off to enjoy the city and the Oktoberfest atmosphere.
