Help Teach English in Ometepe
The experience
You will have a BLAST helping kids in Ometepe Island, Nicaragua learn how to speak English! The children's ages range from 9 - 13 years old. The classes are located in two villages and taught by local teachers who are certified professionals. All you have to do is show up and assist the teacher with pronunciation and checking assignments. One class is located at a public primary school and the other is located in a church classroom.

English Teacher Assistant
Join us on the beautiful Ometepe Island as a Volunteer English Teacher Assistant and make a meaningful impact in the local community! In this role, you will support our structured English program by helping students improve their pronunciation and writing skills. Your assistance will enhance the learning experience, encourage confidence, and foster a love for the English language among students ages 9-13 years old.

Activities & Shift
Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers with classroom activities and language exercises
- Provide individualized support to students with pronunciation and pronunciation practice
- Help students develop their writing skills through guided assignments and feedback
- Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Support cultural exchange and encourage students’ interest in English language and global communication
Rules
Classes are in the mornings. One of the two (2) classes will require transportation (bus or taxi) to the school in another village called Sintiope. This village is ~6km from our accommodations. The other class, in Santa Cru, is within walking distance from our home.
