Program Details

As a volunteer, you’ll share a residence with one or two other Worldpackers. The house is located in Adamas, near the port, just a short walk from the town center — offering an immersive experience of local life. Within a 5-minute walking distance, you’ll find a supermarket, bakery, vehicle rental shops, and various food options.

You will be accommodated in a shared apartment that includes a spacious room, a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV, a cozy patio, and a private bathroom. You can find photos in our position announcement.

Before confirming a volunteer stay, we always arrange a video call via WhatsApp with each Worldpacker. This helps us get to know each other, ensure good communication, and set clear expectations from the beginning.

We speak Greek (of course), fluent English, and fluent Spanish. These are the languages we prefer. If a volunteer speaks Spanish, we usually communicate in Spanish; otherwise, we use English.

The primary responsibilities involves assisting in the preparation of the boats, pleasee check 'activities and shifts' section and housekeeping and cleaning the houses. Moreover, when clients prefer not to navigate the boat themselves, a volunteer can accompany them as a skipper when it is needed. This opportunity may arise, however, it requires the volunteer to possess certain skills:

- Adequate strength to manage and control the boat
- Competence in navigating the boat
- Awareness of potential hazards in the sea
- Logical thinking and a keen intellect
- Long stay here

Activities & Shift

When there is no work available on the boats — for example, due to lack of clients, ongoing maintenance, or strong winds — the Worldpacker will help with the property rental project.

Worldpackers primary responsibilities will include:

On the boats:
- Assisting with the necessary tasks for launching and retrieving boats
- Addressing minor maintenance issues
- Cleaning the boats
- In certain instances, when a skipper is required, you may have the opportunity to serve as a skipper/driver for the clients.

On the houses:
- Housekeeping
- Cleaning
- Painting or general maintenance

Rules

The Worldpackers' residence is expected to be kept to a high standard of cleanliness and order. Since volunteers live there and are the sole users of the space, they are responsible for maintaining it and keeping it clean.

All Worldpackers are expected to follow a few simple house rules, and we appreciate their cooperation.
