Organic Small Holding in Beautiful Wicklow, Ireland
The experience
We live on a small hill farm in the beautiful county Wicklow known as the garden of Ireland. We are a family of four. Becky and Kilian and our daughters Zoe (11) and Bea (8). Program Details
We are looking for you to help us feeding the pigs and helping to build fences to manage where they roam free. There are also lots of other projects on the go like repairing ancient stone walls and small building projects. If you want to learn how to be a capable do it yourself person you can learn the skills here of things like mixing concrete, laying blocks, timberwork and carpentry. We will teach you how to do these things so if you have a curious mind, are fit and willing to learn you will leave with many new skills. The garden also needs tending to, harvesting vegetables and fruits as well as weeding. We have planted over 14000 trees and every year we plant more. We would love help in increasing the woodland on our plot. We often have family get-togethers and parties. All our previous volunteers have joined in with these events and we hope you will want to do that too.
Activities & Shift
We would like you to work 4.5 hours per day, 5 days per week and in return we offer accommodation and food. We are fairly flexible about timings as long as we count on the work getting done. We appreciate that you are also trying to experience Ireland at the same time so we will try to make it work for all.
