The experience

For our ecofarm we are looking for a man, woman or couple who likes to take care of animals, work in the vegetable garden, orchard and kitchen. We work until lunch, then you are free to visit the beach or Monchique or nearby towns. The Algarve has many nice tourist sites to visit. You can also join us to gatherings and parties in the warm and cozy community in our mountains. G
There's game night on Thursdays, cafe night with music on Saturdays.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Intermediate English or Intermediate Dutch

Between 20 and 70 years old

Program Details

In winter you sleep in the house and you have access to a two-person apartment with wood stove, a private bathroom with toilet and shower and a kitchenette. You share a large, cozy kitchen. In the spring and summer you sleep in the cozy caravan in the vegetable garden.

Activities & Shift

You start by taking care of our 7 cats, the chickens, our dog Meissie and the 2 goats. Then we work in the kitchen, the vegetable garden and the orchard. Yogurt has to be made, bread baked, food prepared and pickled. In addition, there are 1001 small jobs to do around the farm: painting a wall, making a fire to burn garden waste, getting wood for the stove, you won't be bored. Finally, we prepare lunch and clean up the kitchen. After that, you are free. A lot of experience is not required, enthusiasm is.

Rules

No drugs and excessive alcohol. Smoking is not allowed inside the house or caravan.
