Program Details
The Locals' Collective is one aspect to several programs focused on Community Development for the indigenous population of Ometepe Island, Nicaragua. We've been volunteering in Ometepe full-time since 2017.
Your role will focus on increasing our followers and engagement on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook by creating authentic, engaging content that showcases the island’s stunning landscapes, local culture, and community projects.
You will be responsible for creating and scheduling posts, capturing the essence of Ometepe’s natural beauty and vibrant community. Brainstorming creative ideas for videos, photos, and stories, as well as monitoring trends and analytics, will help grow our digital presence. Engaging with the local collective members during business hours
We’re looking for someone with a passion helping people and some knowledge of Spanish. Experience with content creation or social media tools is a plus, but most importantly, a genuine interest in sustainable tourism, local culture, and community development.
This volunteer opportunity offers a chance to live on a stunning island, learn about sustainable practices, and contribute to local initiatives. In return, you’ll gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, storytelling, and cross-cultural communication while making friends and exploring Ometepe's Nicaragua’s natural beauty.
