The experience

Join a welcoming school in Arusha that supports children aged 3 to 11 in their early learning journey. As a volunteer, you’ll help in classrooms, assist local teachers, and bring joy to the kids through play, games, songs, and storytelling.

What you offer

5 hours of help per day

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 10 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers

Description: Volunteer contribute 10USD per day for three meals per day,water bills,and electricity bills


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Dance classes: Take free dance classes at our place.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Beginner English or Intermediate English

Between 18 and 74 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

As a volunteer, your main role will be to support our teachers and students during the school day. Your help may include:

Assisting in classrooms with basic lessons

Engaging kids in songs, games, and storytelling

Helping with arts and crafts or playtime activities

Offering emotional support and encouragement

🕗 Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm (5 hours/day)
Afternoons and weekends are free for cultural experiences, rest, or exploring the town.

🏠 You’ll stay with a local host family, enjoy home-cooked meals, and live fully immersed in the Tanzanian culture. Our project coordinator will be there to guide and support you during your stay.


Activities & Shift

Classroom support (3–11 y/o kids)

Reading, singing, playing, dancing

Light help with classroom materials or tidying

Encouraging confidence and curiosity in kids

You’ll have free time in the afternoons and weekends — perfect for exploring Arusha or even joining a safari or Mount Kilimanjaro trek (optional and at a fair price — profits go back to the school 🏫🌱).


Rules

Bring your own bath towel (everything else is provided).

Respect and listen to your host family and school team.

Be kind, open-minded, and responsible with the children.

No experience required, just willingness to help and learn.
