Creative Social Media Volunteer for Trekking NGO in Guatemala
The experience
Quetzaltrekkers is a volunteer-run trekking organization offering hikes to support a school and home for at-risk children (EDELAC). As our Social Media Volunteer, you’ll help share our mission, grow our online presence, and connect with travelers who want to make a difference. You’ll create content, manage posts, and track engagement. Must commit to 3 months. Free housing, great team, and meaningful work included!
What you offer
32 hours of help per week
Content Writer:
Write, edit and publish inspiring content.
Photography:
Take, edit and provide amazing photos.
Video Making:
Create, edit and publish digital videos.
Social Media:
Maintain and update social media channels.
What you get
1 day off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Free Hiking Tours:
We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Intermediate English and Intermediate Spanish
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details
We are consistently in search of hardworking, experienced volunteers to join our international team. All volunteers are provided free accommodation, free communal meals, and a fun, supportive work environment. All on-trek costs are covered for volunteers.
Activities & Shift
Your day will include creating and scheduling social media posts, editing photos and videos, responding to comments and messages, and tracking engagement. You’ll also help with general office tasks and occasionally join treks to capture content. Expect to work around 6–8 hours a day, 6 days per week, with a flexible schedule.
