The experience

Enjoy Peru, its magical mountain scenery, traditions, culture, dances, and learn Spanish by practicing during the day by getting involved in everyday activities with your Peruvian host family, teaching English or talking to locals, and tasting and learning how to make delicious Peruvian cuisine.
You will dedicate 2 hours of Spanish classes every day and help the family with daily activities, dance, and Andean cosmovision experiences.


What you offer

10 hours of help per week

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Elderly Care: Assisting and spending time with the elderly.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 297 Per week

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Donation to project

Description: Volunteers contribute USD 297/week to cover meals (breakfast and lunch), housing, maintenance, and support for our organization.


What you get

2 days off per week

Program Details

Learn and practice Spanish by getting involved in everyday activities, learning about the culture, visiting the tourist places, dancing, getting involved in various social projects, and making a positive impact in the community. Enjoying delicious Peruvian cuisine.
You will dedicate 2 hours of Spanish speaking classes every day and help the family with daily activities like watering the plants, cleaning, etc.


Activities & Shift


We will show you the most interesting places in the Mantaro Valley.
Andean Peruvian typical artisanal towns,
ecological markets, and ceremonies,
Learning the history while visiting pre-Hispanic archaeological sites.
If you like sharing time with children, we´ll be very grateful if you speak in English with a group of teenagers who are willing to learn English 3 days a week in a rural school.

Every day, around 8-9 am, we share breakfast with the family, chat, and have a practical conversation with the volunteer, exchanging English-Spanish vocabulary.

OPTIONAL:
You can help the family to clean the house, wash the dishes, water the plants, or go grocery shopping, to the markets, gardening, planting, or just going out with us to enjoy music live, going out to have dinner at some special and interesting cafeterias, or going out to dance. Or to a concert, etc.

2 hours of theoretical Spanish classes per day. (optional)
(The schedule is flexible and can be adapted to the volunteer's preferences.)

Weekends are free to explore the Mantaro Valley, go hiking, trekking, or explore the high cantral amazonical jungle ( 3 hours far from Huancayo ) or the water national reserve ( Huancaya) or hike to the closest glacier 40 min far from HYO, Huaytapallana. TOUR to huaytapallana and artisans traditional towns included .
