The experience
At PDRI, we believe that peacebuilding begins with healing. Refugees living in Kakuma face not only displacement challenge but also the emotional scars of war, trauma, and separation from family and home. Mental health remains one of the most under-supported needs in the refugee community. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated volunteer psychologist to help address these challenges.
What you offer

Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Program Details
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated volunteer psychologist to help address these challenges. Many refugees in Kakuma have experienced: 1.Trauma from armed conflict, persecution, and violence, 2.Depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), 3.Challenges in adapting to new environments and cultures, 4.Domestic and gender-based violence, 5. Loss of loved ones and a sense of hopelessness, 6. Limited access to psychosocial support or mental health care. These issues affect not just individuals, but entire families and communities. As a psychologist with PDRI, you will play a key role in restoring dignity, emotional well-being, and hope.
Your Role May Include: Providing individual and group counseling sessions,
Supporting youth, women, and vulnerable persons, Training and mentoring community psychosocial support workers, Conducting mental health awareness sessions, Working closely with our peacebuilding and sports teams to integrate psychosocial support in our program.
Activities & Shift
The volunteer will be working 5 hours per day. 2 hours 30 munities morning and 2 hours 30 minutes afternoon and 5 days per week, from Monday to Friday.
