My time here has been some of my best ever while traveling! The grounds are lovely, and all of the people who live and work here are the absolute best!! Every volunteer I met was fantastic as well and I have made new lifelong friends. I have nothing but love for every single person I met! I don't have enough good things to say about this place and if I had time would absolutely extend my stay! Keep in mind the hours are fairly long so it does start to feel like a full time job time commitment wise but if you are ok with that for sure come! Absolutely amazing and I will definitely be back!!

I simply can't say enough good things about my experience! The grounds and accommodation are beautiful, comfortable, clean and safe. The residents and volunteers are some of the most genuine and kind people I've ever met! The work hours and responsibilities are clearly communicated, well organized and perfectly reasonable. As volunteers, we were able to participate in the retreats, meditations and prayers any time we're not working which was such a treat! I would HIGHLY recommend this volunteer opportunity to anyone looking to meet new people, or take some time for spiritual exploration!

TARA the Center is a very beautiful place surrounded by nature. In the work volunteering, I participated in meditations, learned a little about the Center culture and contributed to activities such as gardening, World Peace Café, household and in the kitchen. The food was very delicious and we even had fruit and chocolates most of the time. Thanks for the experience.

This was my second time volunteering with the Center Buddhism and it was great to hear more about modern the Center Buddhism, now in English. I was very well received by everyone and it was a pleasure to collaborate in activities in such as special place, surrounded by wonderful nature. I take with me teachings about meditation that lead to inner peace. I am grateful for the affection of managers Ximena, Nathalie and Donna. It was a great experience! :) :)

From the first time that I arrived, they were very warm and kind. About the work task, I enjoyed it a lot, the colleagues were patient, friendly, and always had the disposition to teach. The place is wonderful and has a peaceful and calm environment. I felt in the family all the time. The food is delicious, different and I was very happy to try different kinds of food that I eat usually. The host worried all the time for all the volunteers to be happy and if we needed something they helped us. I recommend this place and the experience that I had here was unique.

It was a lovely experience at the Center Derby the Center, where I felt welcomed. Residents, visitors, and volunteers were kind and friendly. I participated in meditation and prayer classes, learning about the religion. I mainly worked in the kitchen but also in the garden and the café. The kitchen work was the most challenging due to the split shifts and numerous tasks. However, it was great for getting to know more residents. My suggestion for improvement is communication, as signs can be confusing; direct communication would be better. Overall, it was a very positive experience, thank you IKRC

I definitely would recommend volunteering here for those who are looking for a peaceful and restorative position and who are also curious about Buddhism. Work is either grounds, café, kitchen, or housekeeping and all of the work is pretty laid back although cafe can get busy at times! You are allowed to join any class/meditation that you aren't working during. My fellow volunteers became very close and ill miss them and the residents/staff very very much 🫶🏼🫶🏼 xx

One of the most beautiful experiences I've had in my life. I carry with me the best memories of the Center, not only because it is a beautiful place but also because there I met those who are now my best friends. It is a special place, surrounded by nature and good people. I believe that is the essence: a place is special thanks to the people who inhabit it.
