English Language Teacher
The experience
Teach basic to intermediate English to primary school students (Grades 1–8)
Create and deliver engaging lesson plans focused on speaking, reading, writing, and listening
Support students in building vocabulary, grammar, and conversation skills
Work with local teachers to align with the Ethiopian curriculum
Participate in cultural exchange and community activities

Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Program Details
The English Language Teacher Volunteer Program invites passionate individuals to share their knowledge and help students improve their English skills in a fun and meaningful way. Volunteers work in local schools or community centers, teaching conversational English, reading, and writing to eager learners of different ages.
You’ll assist local teachers, create interactive lessons, and encourage students to express themselves confidently. Beyond the classroom, you’ll discover the heart of Ethiopian culture—its warmth, traditions, and inspiring community spirit.
This program is ideal for aspiring or experienced teachers, education students, and anyone who enjoys connecting with others through language and learning.
Activities & Shift
Teach / Assist classroom teachers in daily lessons and classroom management
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students needing extra help
Help prepare teaching materials and organize classroom resources
Participate in extracurricular or after-school programs when possible
Rules
Fluent in English; teaching certification or ESL/TEFL experience is a plus but not required
Experience working with children is preferred
Flexible, culturally sensitive, and patient
Must be 18 years or older
