Program Details
The cherry harvest at Jana is a special time.
Nature is lush and abundant, and the house opens its doors to welcome numerous volunteers and friends to dedicate themselves to this ancient work.
We will divide into workgroups guided by the elements—earth, water, air, and fire—to become participants and stewards not only of agricultural tasks but also of the space that hosts us and the community life.
The harvest will be accompanied by circle moments, sharing the word "palo," sacred prayer spaces, botanical teachings, songs, ritual fires, games, river trips, music, and lots and lots of joy and celebration of life.
The goal is to spend a Taurine month, enjoying the abundance of nature, the simple life of the countryside, and the beauty of the gazes and smiles that surround us.
Life and Mother Earth always provide us with everything we need, and we will honor their unconditional love through the simple and ancestral everyday gestures of our ancestors, who have always harvested herbs, flowers, and seasonal fruits as an infinite blessing.

Activities & Shift
ACTIVITIES
The volunteer work will be divided between cherry harvesting shifts, kitchen shifts, sales shifts at the Campi Aperti agricultural fairs in Bologna and nearby, and shifts for processing into delicious organic jams.
HOW AND WHEN
There are two shifts per day for each volunteer.
The harvest takes place from 7 to 11 AM and from 5 to 8 PM to avoid the heat (approximate times).
The fairs are mainly in the afternoon (some days also in the morning).
