Program Details
Our project is based in Pozo de las Calcosas, a small coastal village on the island of El Hierro (Canary Islands).
We are building an art and creativity space by the sea, using natural materials like stones, shells, and driftwood.
Volunteers help test and improve new art workshops (painting, land art, photography, installations), document the process (photos, videos), and support the daily life of the house (basic hosting tasks).
It’s a space for creativity, connection, and sharing ideas while enjoying a unique natural environment.
Activities & Shift
Morning (approx. 3–4h):
• Participate in or help organize art workshops (painting on stones, arranging sculptures, photography).
• Collect and prepare natural materials (shells, stones, wood).
• Assist with documenting the projects (photos/videos for the website).
Afternoon (approx. 1–2h, flexible):
• Light help with hosting tasks: tidying, preparing meals, organizing supplies.
• Occasional support with guests (if any are staying).
Schedules are flexible and adapted to the weather, tides, and ongoing projects. There’s plenty of free time to explore the island, swim in natural pools, or create personal projects.
Rules
• Respect the natural environment: take care of the beach, use materials responsibly, leave no waste.
• Be open-minded and collaborative — no artistic background required, just a willingness to experiment.
• Share the communal space respectfully (clean up after yourself, help with shared tasks)..
• Respect quiet hours at night to preserve the peaceful setting.
