This was my first worldpackers experience and it was great. Rachel was always clear on communicating the tasks at the farm, and got to dabble in a bit of everything. We had meaningful conversations over dinner (she is an amazing cook) and she was always empowering us as women to push ourselves to do what we want to do. She is so knowledgeable. This is a great place to get away, work hard, and think. I hope your project continues to go great! I will miss the doggies and goats.

From day one, we were blown away by the stunning views of the Douro River and the beautiful nature surrounding us. Our host was amazing, treating us to nutritious, homemade meals that were incredibly delicious. She welcomed us like family and made sure we felt right at home. We got hands-on with farm work, helping with the herding and feeding of the goats, and learned a lot about local meat production. One of the highlights was learning about land management and removing invasive eucalyptus

My friend and I had an awesome experience on Rachel's farm. She is a strong, resilient and independent woman from who we have a lot to learn. ☺️You will definitely enjoy the food and fall in love with the social, lovely and cute goats. 🐐All the conditions were well established and followed perfectly by the host. We were truly contributing to the conservation project by the different daily tasks. Also, it is a calm and relaxing place from which you have a beautiful view on the Douro river. 🏞️ We definitely recommend this volunteering experience!

I only spent two weeks at the farm, but it was packed with unexpected experiences, ups and downs in terms of the weather. I hope i contributed enough for the better. I loved all the food Rachel cooked, she's an amazing chef! She was really making sure we feel comfortable and took care of our needs in all aspects. She communicated all tasks clearly to us in advance. This was my first ever worldpackers experience and I'm a 100% happy with it! Thank you!

This experience taught me alot about goats, myself and the world. We worked with meaningful tasks every weekday. I was fortunate to be part of the kidding season which was the most AMAZING thing. In appreciation for our work we were served exquisite food that was nutritious, fulfilling and sometimes we had dessert on top of that. I always felt respected, appreciated and above all safe. Rachel is very communicative and has a gift for problem solutions as well as a passion for her work. I met wonderful people here and will leave this second home with new perspectives and gratitude in my heart.

Rachel was a great host, she genuinely cared for me since the day I arrived. The food is amazing and the conversations are great. The farm is located in a beautiful mountain and the work feels lighter since it's divided between the morning and the afternoon. Herding the goats was super fun and I learned a lot about the environment. The dogs are adorable and I was there when the baby goats were born which felt like such a privilege to witness. I recommend this experience to anyone.

Rachel, the host, is an incredible woman with a good predisposition and energy to talk and explain everything you need to know about land management and sustainability. ALSO you will never even go hungry with the incredible meals she prepares. The farm itself is a beautiful environment, but you have to be really prepared mentally and physically as it says in the description. - The only detail that I would have liked to know before is about the bathroom since it is located outside the house and does not have a door :/ which sometimes becomes uncomfortable and there are no photos to prove it.

I enjoyed my stay at the farm! I was there for a month and it was my first WP experience. The tasks were as expected and very satisfying to complete. I learned a lot about animal welfare and land care. I also enjoyed hanging out with the goats :). The nature on the mountain is absolutely gorgeous as well. Overall a nice experience for my first time.

I enjoyed my stay at the farm for sure. The work was rewarding and new to me but I was very excited to learn. I've never worked with animals or on a farm before and this was my first worldpackers experience. Rachel is a great host, and very appreciative of hard work. Communication was pretty difficult at first but as we got to know each other more it became easier. It's very clear how much she cares for her animals and sustainability. The food was always thoughtfully made as well which was great because we had something to look forward to after work. Feel free to message with more questions!
