Join our peaceful lakeside farm on the Buwaya Peninsula and help with organic gardening, chickens, goats, rabbits and ducks. You’ll stay in a cozy homestay, enjoy home-cooked meals, and live the rhythms of real rural Uganda.

What you offer

23 hours of help per week

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Parties: Get discounts at nearby parties and clubs.

Discounts on Restaurants: Get discounts at nearby restaurants.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 55 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Volunteers stay for free in our welcoming homestay near the lake, surrounded by nature and friendly locals 🛖🌅

🌿 Gardening (planting, watering, and weeding)
🐐 Feeding and caring for chickens, ducks, rabbits, and goats
🥚 Collecting eggs and assisting with basic farm upkeep
🏗️ Helping with the construction and repair of animal shelters

📅 You’ll help around 4–5 hours a day, with 2 days off per week.
🫱🏾 Optional: Join our weekly community health outreach for hands-on learning and impact!

Minimum stay: 1 week. Longer stays are always welcome 💛


Activities & Shift

⏰ Volunteer hours: 4–5 hours/day, usually within 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Shifts are flexible depending on the day's tasks 🌿

🕖 Morning (7–10 AM):
– Feed animals (chickens, ducks, goats)
– Collect eggs, water plants

🕙 Midday (10 AM–1 PM):
– Garden maintenance, planting, cleaning animal areas

💊 Afternoon (2–5 PM, 2x/week – optional):
– Join our community health outreach initiatives
