The experience

Join a powerful mentorship initiative designed to uplift and empower youth—especially girls—from underserved communities. This volunteer opportunity focuses on nurturing leadership, promoting mental and physical wellness, and building confidence among adolescents and teenagers living in the vibrant community of Kibera. 🌍💫


What you offer

4 hours of help per day

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 20 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: Your donation is more than just generous—it plays a vital role in helping us move forward. It will help cover accommodation, provide essential materials for volunteers, and directly contribute to the success and sustainability of the project. We’re truly grateful to have you with us!


What you get

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Program Details

You’ll be part of a team that organizes engaging educational sessions, distributes essential hygiene supplies, and promotes youth empowerment through sports, recreation, and creativity. Make a real difference in the lives of young people while experiencing grassroots development in action!


This mentorship program targets young people between the ages of 10 and 22, particularly girls, from vulnerable areas in Kibera. The aim is to guide them through:

Life skills & leadership development

Mental health awareness & emotional support

Menstrual health education & hygiene practices

Gender-based violence prevention & gender equality training

Academic support & career guidance

Volunteers also help with the distribution of menstrual hygiene kits, provide mentorship through creative activities like sports, art, dance, and music, and support community events that promote dignity, confidence, and inclusion. 🧠🎨🏐


Activities & Shift

As a volunteer, your main activities will include:

✅ Mentorship & Educational Support:
Lead or assist with workshops on self-esteem, leadership, menstrual health, and emotional well-being. Share your knowledge and help shape the leaders of tomorrow.

✅ Hygiene Kit Distribution:
Help distribute sanitary pads and hygiene products while educating girls about self-care and dignity.

✅ Creative Engagement:
Support extracurricular activities like singing, dancing, visual arts, and games (e.g. Ludo, checkers) that build community spirit and confidence.

✅ Sports & Recreation:
Join youth in friendly volleyball games, swimming trips, or organize mini-tournaments to foster teamwork and physical health.

✅ Local Exploration & Cultural Exchange:
Visit key local spots like the Rowallan Scouts Camp and explore Kibera with local youth, promoting mutual understanding and shared experiences.

Volunteer Commitment:

Around 4–5 hours per day, Monday to Friday

Weekends are generally free for rest or optional community excursions

Shifts are flexible based on ongoing activities and volunteer skills
