Program Details
Volunteers will stay in our family home at the edge of the Moroccan Sahara, supporting with light daily tasks (hospitality, cultural exchange, simple help) while experiencing real local life. The program includes accommodation, daily meals, and a guided tour to Erg Chegaga dunes. Volunteers are immersed in Berber culture, with opportunities to learn Arabic/Berber, join market visits, cook with nomads, and explore oases. This is a cultural exchange, not a job, and we offer a full experience in return for your support.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers help 3–4 hours per day and become part of our slow desert rhythm. Activities include:
• Welcoming guests into Dar Nomad
• Helping with meals, tea time, and market shopping
• Supporting our eco-building project: working with mud, straw, and traditional desert materials
• Creating content (photo/video) to share our journey
• Joining cultural tours and helping guide guests
• Participating in desert cooking, fire-making, or nomad-style picnics
• Organizing spaces and assisting during travel days
• Helping with Arabic/Berber language exchange
• Exploring with us to oases, kasbahs, dunes, and nomad camps
Our home is hand-built with mud, hay, and wood volunteers become part of the way we build, live, and share our story with others. Every day is different, and every task is connected to something meaningful.
Rules
• Just respect the space, the people, and yourself
• No need to filter—be real, be kind, be you
• We all come from different paths, but here we meet in peace
• Keep things clean and help where you can—it’s a shared home, not a hotel
• Show up with good energy, and the desert will meet you halfway
We don’t expect perfection, just presence.
