What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Requirements

Beginner Arabic or Intermediate English

Between 18 and 55 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Based on their skills, volunteers will train 10 to 20 Socotri participants over a period of 4 weeks. 🧑‍🏫🌍

Some training sessions will take place at the main facilities, while others will be held directly in the local community. Volunteers will also have free days to explore and enjoy the island’s incredible natural beauty and tourism opportunities. 🏝️

Additionally, volunteers will visit educational institutes to share cultural knowledge and promote international exchange.

Rules

Socotra is an Islamic island, so volunteers are expected to respect local customs and traditions. 🕌

Conduct, clothing, and language must be appropriate at all times.

Volunteers should research local cultural norms before arrival to ensure a positive and respectful experience.
