The experience

Hi there! We’re a small, newly opened guesthouse on Tsushima Island, Japan — a peaceful, nature-filled island between Korea and Japan.

We run a cozy guesthouse with a small café & bar, and we’re looking for friendly volunteers who can help with light housekeeping (like making beds and cleaning) and just chatting with guests. That’s it!

The guesthouse opened this January, so we’re still small — not too many guests yet —

Program Details

In this program, you’ll enjoy daily life at a guesthouse with a cozy café while connecting with local residents and travelers visiting Tsushima. The guesthouse is located right in front of the sea, so you’ll also have opportunities to experience the beauty of nature.

Activities & Shift

In the morning, your main tasks will be cleaning and doing laundry for the guesthouse and café. The workload depends on how many guests stayed the night before, but it usually takes about 1–2 hours. We ask for your help 5 days a week.

In the afternoon, we’d love for you to spend at least one hour after 2:00 PM chatting with guests in a relaxed and friendly way. Of course, you're also welcome to hang out in the common area and enjoy more conversations if you'd like — but feel free to use the rest of your time as you wish. You’re welcome to go out and explore too!

Rules

Please note that we ask all guests to keep quiet after 11:00 PM, as part of our house rules. We kindly ask our volunteer staff to do the same, so that everyone can sleep comfortably and peacefully.
