The goal of the Child Labor & Trafficking Project is to combat the endemic problem of child labor and trafficking in the fishing communities of Ghana through education, rehabilitation, and community empowerment. We provide educational sponsorship to current child laborers and children who have returned from being trafficked.
Volunteer & Volunteer tasks include:
•Volunteers will involve working directly with children and their families, fishermen and schools to stop rampant child labor and trafficking practices in fishing communities in Ghana.
•Volunteers will conduct interviews with families, child labor and trafficking victims and the fishermen who hire them.
• Volunteers/interns will help with the entering and analyzing the data, attending meetings with community leaders to discuss findings, negotiating solutions to rescue children.
•Writing project reports and proposals for donors and assisting with daily office duties.
•Volunteers/Interns will also participate in the selection of children eligible for sponsorships to return to school.
