Paid Position Morning Prep Chef

The experience

Paid Chef / Cook Position- Working along with a kitchen hand organising out duties of what needs to be done for the day, Dipping fresh chips, cutting up fish ,making tartar sauce, taco sauces, breading fish, making up batter, ensuring there is enough food prepped for the daily service ahead for the food truck. Help to load the van and clean up after the morning prep along with extra duties to assist the food truck. Driving license required.

What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Between 19 and 50 years old

We welcome our volunteers as part of the ar bia mara food truck family, as a family run business we all work together and have fun! we provide uniforms, as much food to eat and take home with you along with fresh coffee, drinks and an experience that will live with you forever on the largest Island Off Ireland, Achill is a huge hit with international travellers and students, enjoying our amazing coast line for surf, kayak and hiking along with the bustling nightlife! We provide private accommodation , your own bike to explore the Island and best of all we pay you with a monetary reward depending on how hard you work! This position is available from may to the end of august if a traveller would like to stay longer .

Activities & Shift

This position which could suit an individual or a couple/pair travelling together. The shif will commence at 8.30am in our preparation kitchen which we prepare our fresh fish for the day, our sauces, our homemade batter and fresh chips. Along with food prep comes general cleaning, making sure stock is stored correctly and our prep kitchen then transfers all the morning food prep to our food truck in a beach location via van for the days service. Your shift will run 8.30 to 1.30pm We need help on other days putting away deliveries in this time. Its a very flexible role, duties are different every day so its kept exciting!

Rules

Be on time, be Fast in your working role, always looking ahead of what is needed in the kitchen. Be independent to make your way to and from work. Be a good representative of our business in your time with us. Always be self motivated, work well with the owners and chefs and don't be afraid to communicate with the owner if some things need to be changed or you want to give good feed back to allow a smooth morning preparation,
