I loved my time volunteering at the guest house! From the BBQs to surf lessons, it felt like a family! The location is beautiful and peaceful but also still close enough to other big cities, the work and hours are fair, and the room was cozy. I will never forget the people i met while i was here (:

My experience at Mobydick Surfcamp has been genuinely amazing! The people here are incredible… so kind, funny and full of good energy. It really feels like a big family and from the first moment I felt at home. I loved it so much that in the end I decided to stay an extra month haha I'm actually still here ;), because leaving would have truly broken my heart. If you're looking for a place full of surf, nature, laughter and beautiful souls, this is it. Thank you Mobydick for everything! I LOVE YOUUU🫶✨🏄‍♀️

I loved my time at the guest house!! I did the social media, so my hours were very flexible/accomodating. Mariana, Caetano and Pedro have provided an incredible lodge/surf camp and I was able to meet so many locals + travellers here. They are very fair and accomodating, and as volunteer you get plenty of time to go surfing (in the high season at least).I can't wait to come back 💖

I highly enjoyed my time at the guest house! The vibe is very chill and fun and I had the pleasure to meet amazing people. The location is great, I had plenty of time to explore the beautiful area and also joined the surf lessons. Pedro and mariana made me feel welcomed right away. The communication sometimes wasn't entirely smooth, but besides that this was one of my best volunteering experiences so far. Thank you for the great time!

My time at the guest house was truly amazing!! I met so many nice people and had lots of great surf sessions. The work was super easy and I had plenty of free time to enjoy different activities. In the evenings we had a lot of dinners and barbecues together which I really loved. In the beginning, communication was a bit challenging, but once you're settled in, it gets much easier. Just so you know: In high season, the work shifts are 6 hours per day, and breakfast is only included during that time. All in all, it was a really great experience that I am very grateful for! Thank You! <3

I loved this experience so much that I might even come back🙈 The people are amazing (Mariana was super helpful and a perfect host) and the instructors became friends as well. The shed in Malveira is not perfect, but if you're into nature and socializing this is for you! I was doing the social media and it was amazing, I would totally recommend 3>

I stayed here for three weeks, helping out with their social media, and honestly had such a great time! The team is incredibly friendly and made me feel at home right away. I got to join surf lessons and we also went biking and hiking in the beautiful surrounding nature. It's a bit outside the city, but that's part of its charm – peaceful, green, and close to the beach. The hostel itself is super cozy, with a relaxed vibe that makes it easy to settle in. I left with good memories and new friends. Will definitely come back!

My time at MobyDick flew by. Because I liked it so much, I stayed a little longer. Pedro and everyone else made me feel very welcome and comfortable. I was often able to attend surf lessons and the working hours were really relaxed and flexible. As I missed the hustle and bustle of the high season sometimes, I initiated a few community dinners, which was fun. Pedro did everything to make me feel comfortable. Thank you very much! I would love to come back!

The surf lessons&surf teachers are great. I enjoyed my days with my colleagues & shared many laughs. In the beginning I felt like I clicked really good with the hosts so I was disappointed on how my stay ended. First week was so fun. I was there for the position content creator but ended up working way more shifts breakfast, checkin ,cleaning) than agreed. I communicated that but nothing changed. 4 days before leaving the host sent me a message about everything I did ”wrong” and asked me to leave last minute, never had a conversation with me about any of it before. I did'nt feel respected:(

Mariana is a sweet host, and I had a good time during my 1,5 weeks volunteering. There are lots of day-trips to do around the hostel. Luckily I also knew some people in Lisbon, so I was able to go out and socialize there. Mariana warned me about it beforehand, but in December the hostel in Malveira did not have any guests interested in surfing (only 1 surf-lesson during my stay, I did not try taking the surfboard in public transport by myself). The volunteer room should also be renovated! I am sure that volunteering at the guest house in the summer is a completely different, more fun experience.
