My experience at the hostel has been great. Ernesto is very attentive and always makes sure you are listemes to. He was always happy to accomodate my needs. The team as well as the guests in this place are very open minded, there's a very nice atmosphere and I've felt really confortable.

I enjoyed my time there so much, I decided to return. Grateful for the comfortable, welcoming space that the hostel is and that Ernesto was able to accommodate me in some last minute plans to return there before heading home. A short walk to the beach and just far enough from the centre of the village that you feel like you're nicely tucked in to nature, surrounded by greenery. I truly appreciate my time here and definitely recommend making this your next worldpackers' stop.

We had a great time at the hostel! From the very beginning, we felt welcome and comfortable. We traveled together and wanted to work together, so it was great that this was possible here. The tasks were well-organized and clearly communicated. They weren't difficult, and although the heat was sometimes a bit challenging, three hours of work per day were totally manageable. the hostel has a wonderful atmosphere, and we got to know Zipolite really well. We were happy that the Host was able to provide us with a private room. Thank you!

The hostel, as the name says it all, is all about community building. Wow, what a splendid season I have had, made exceptionally creative friends learning new art form called Butoh dance. Humility and openness is the theme at the ever so beautiful facility. So many activities to partake in. As a wanderer to find a community to celebrate Christmas in an artistic manner, to ring in the new year with a fire circle and homely dinner is beyond one's imagination. Thanks to Ernesto, Maybel for being so supportive of exploring my own true self, I feel so full of life entering into this new year 2025.

My experience at the hostel was great! Surrounded by nature and greenery, the structure itself is beautiful and provides a peaceful environment. Ernesto, the host, is a truly caring and attentive person. During my stay, we even experienced a hurricane, but the place proved to be safe and well-prepared. I would recommend volunteering at the hostel to anyone looking with a meaning connection with nature and locals.

The hostel is beautiful and a lovely bit of respite. Little Pepote (hostel dog) made the experience even better! Caro was so kind and invited us for breakfast, which was really appreciated and absolutely delicious. Ernesto seemed less present than I expected from past reviews, and when I messaged goodbye after not being able to find him, I didn't get a reply which I was slightly disappointed with after two weeks at the hostel. A few guests also pushed the rules a bit and not much was said. Still, the tasks were very fair, the atmosphere was relaxed, and I'm grateful for the time of self reflection.

Well, this was unexpected.

-I gave you less hours of work on your first day
-I gave you a private room instead of a bed in the shared dorm
-I offered you food on your first morning
-I cooked breakfast for you on your first weekend
-I invited you to participate for free in workshops (you chose not to)
-You spent most of the time you were in the hostel inside of the room, and didn't socialize with the rest of the community.

And you give me a low rating and complain that I was distant?

The hostel is stunning, the pool is great. You'll see a lot of local wildlife and cuddle a very cute hostel dog. Caro was lovely and cooked us breakfast a few times too. I found Ernesto to be quite distant. I didn't feel much of an exchange past the work for board. Jobs were simple although did verge into the range of dogsbody rather than respected staff member. Overall a good stay but found the lack personability a little disappointing. Definitely worth spending your time here but do be prepared for a degree of isolation.

Ernesto was the most accommodating, present & compassionate host. He always made sure we had what we needed and generously offered his time, recommendations and conversation when he could, even though he was very busy. Grateful for the time getting to know him and the others I met there as well.

Ernesto is a very great host. It was a wonderful and respectful experience! The people are nice and representative of the respectful environment you should have in communities like those. It is a safe place and also fun. The facilities are amazing (sauna, pool etc). The host did he best to accommodate and to offer private room. Everything was open to be talked about and for compromises. The host is truly a great person of values and experiences. I recommend going๐Ÿ˜Š

Place was really amazing. All open minded people and freedom. Helping cleaning wasn't hard. Temperature made it a little bit harder but Ernesto gives a flexibility in working hours and remind sto drink more water ๐Ÿ˜… the only bad thing about the hostel? Leaving. I extended my stay a bit haha.
