If you enjoy peaceful surroundings and nature, this place is perfect. My first volunteering experience was with Dianne, and it was really great. She's super welcoming and made sure I felt comfortable with the work and during my free time. In my downtime, she took me hiking and to some the guest house natural spots, which made the experience even better. If you're into calm environments and nature, I'd definitely recommend this place.

My stay at Diannes place was a great experience! Her place the guest house is perfectly located and beautiful. The van I've stayed in was cozy and the bed too god to get up in the morning. The work especially in the airbnbs was rewarding and left still enough free time for discovering the island what would never be possible for me without her van I could drive whenever needed. Furthermore she took me on beautiful hikes with her dogs. If you are willing to learn and are ready to be passionate at work I can highly recommend experiencing her Place

It was my first voluntary work and it was better than I expected. Dianne and her dogs were the guest house. She took me in a hike first week with an the guest house breakfast and she show me the city which I appreciate it too much. She was clear about what I need to do and we could communicate well. Theres so much to do and you have to be flexible because always is something going on. I didn bother that much because in exchange I had food, pets, a super cool van and a beautiful city to explore. My best part was working in the vans and get to know the island. Honestly, if a could I would have stay longer

My first volunteer experience here truly opened up my world! Dianne's a hardworking and energetic person, she's kind to me throughout my stay. The work wasn't too hard but it's a little bit tricky for me to plan ahead since I also worked remotely, and some days the flexible schedule drained my energy, but overall it was fine. I met many different kinds of people, and learned how to adapt and handle different situations. I loved staying in a van, surrounded by cute pups, cats, and beautiful nature. I would definitely come back with my driver's licence and explore the island with the van!

Dianne is a nice person but hard to understand directly, you need time to get how she works. It's an other volunteer who show me how to do the beds etc and it's strict, it must be very clean for the guests. I slept in a van it was cool ! The hours and days off are not respected but Dianne let us 1 week and then 4 days with the van so we had the chance to visit the island ! The work is hard sometimes but if you have the chance to discover the island then, it worth it. The place is very nice, peaceful and you can see a lot of bird (specially colibri). I recommend if you are not a stress person.

A great first worldpackers experience. Dianne was very friendly and took me on loads of hikes around the island often followed by a lovely breakfast. No set hours so could be tricky to plan days too much in advance in case things came up. Some days could be busier than expected but overall lots of free time for me to head out and do my own exploring. I loved taking care of and living with all the cats as they're so cute and friendly.

I really enjoyed my time with dianne the guest house. her place is beautiful and had plenty of amenities. it was also in a great location that made exploring the lovely city the guest house super easy! the work was fair, and not very difficult, though there are no real set hours of work, but that didn't really bother me much. dianne made me feel very welcome and i enjoyed hearing the stories she shared of her life and the travel tips she had for me. i was able to meet lots of people by volunteering here, and was a great learning experience tackling tasks that were new to me!

The name "the guest house" couldn't be more true! If you want to expolore Victoria and all it's beauty this is the right place for you. In exchange for a fair working schedule you get a great accomodation, a fridge full of food and a perfect location just 5-10min away from Downtown and the ocean.. Working for Dianne was so much fun and you get so many chances to meet new people! I would definitely come back, and wish Dianne all the best - Thank you for everything :))

Dianne has created a little paradise for travellers the guest house middle the guest house and is a great host too. There is always something to do (housekeeping, cleaning, gardening or helping out with the cats and campervans) and lots of details to take care of. That's why I recommend staying at least 2 months or even longer! The work is fair and there is plenty of time to explore Victoria and the surrounding area. All in all, I had a wonderful time with Dianne and would come back any time. Thank you so much!
