The experience
As a Worldpacker at Foundation, you will immerse yourself in Ugandan culture & make an impact! Assist teachers, support outreach, help with childcare, elderly people care& participate in cultural events. We expect flexibility, patience & commitment. Receive accommodation, meals & cultural immersion!
What you offer
20 hours of help per week
Teaching Sports:
Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.
Elderly Care:
Assisting and spending time with the elderly.
Child Care:
Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
What you get
2 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Team Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Program Details
Flamboyant Foundation's volunteer program offers a unique opportunity for Worldpackers to immerse themselves in Ugandan culture while making a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children.

Activities & Shift
Daily Activities Checklist:
1. Morning Preparation: Assist with morning routines at the education center, such as preparing classrooms and materials.
2. Teaching Assistance: Support teachers with lesson planning, delivery, and assessment.
3. Childcare and Youth Activities: Engage with children in recreational activities, such as sports, arts, and crafts.
4. Community Outreach: Participate in outreach programs, including home visits, community events, and health initiatives.
5. Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, such as data entry, reporting, and communication.
Shift Description:
- Morning Shift: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
- Assist with morning routines, teaching, and childcare activities.
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
- Engage in community outreach, administrative support, and youth activities.
- Flexible Hours: Occasional weekend or evening events, such as cultural festivals or community meetings.
Time Commitment:
- Minimum of 20-25 hours per week
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities
Note: Shifts and activities may vary depending on the specific needs of the organization and the volunteer's skills and interests.

General Rules:
1. Respect Local Customs: Familiarize yourself with and respect Ugandan customs, traditions, and values.
2. Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information about the organization, children, and communities.
3. Professionalism: Conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner when interacting with colleagues, children, and community members.
Safety and Security:
1. Follow Safety Guidelines: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols provided by the organization.
2. Travel with Caution: Exercise caution when traveling, especially at night, and use authorized transportation services.
3. Report Incidents: Immediately report any incidents, accidents, or concerns to the organization's management.
Health and Hygiene:
1. Vaccinations: Ensure you have all necessary vaccinations before arriving in Uganda.
2. Personal Hygiene: Maintain good personal hygiene practices, including regular handwashing and proper waste disposal.
3. Medical Care: Inform the organization of any medical conditions or concerns, and seek medical attention if necessary.
Accommodation and Meals:
1. Shared Accommodation: Respect shared living spaces and communal facilities.
2. Meal Times: Attend meal times as scheduled, and respect local cuisine and dietary customs.
Communication:
1. Regular Updates: Provide regular updates to the organization regarding your activities, challenges, and concerns.
2. Respectful Communication: Communicate respectfully and professionally with colleagues, children, and community members.
