The experience

Volunteers help keep the hostel clean, organized, and ready before the 2 pm check-in time. Main tasks include cleaning common areas and bathrooms, making beds, keeping everything in its proper place, and ensuring rooms stay tidy. Laundry is an important part of the role: washing, hanging clothes and sheets to dry, then ironing and storing them properly. Maintaining a high level of cleanliness—especially in bathrooms—is essential.

Program Details

As a volunteer, you will play an important role in keeping the hostel clean, organized, and welcoming for all guests. Your main focus will be on cleaning and housekeeping, with a small portion of time dedicated to reception support.

**Daily Cleaning & Housekeeping Tasks**

* Cleaning common areas such as the kitchen, living room, hallways, and bathrooms
* Making beds and preparing rooms before check-in time (2 pm)
* Keeping everything organized and in its proper place at all times
* Handling laundry: washing, hanging clothes and sheets to dry, ironing, and storing them neatly
* Ensuring bathrooms remain extremely clean and stocked
* Checking for anything broken, missing, or out of place
* Maintaining an overall high standard of cleanliness throughout the day

**Basic Reception Tasks**

* Welcoming guests with a friendly attitude
* Helping with simple check-ins or check-outs when needed
* Answering basic questions about the hostel or the area
* Informing the host immediately if any issues or guest needs arise

**Communication & Cooperation**

Communication with the host is a **top priority**. Volunteers must be open, respectful, and proactive in speaking with the host about:

* Tasks
* Schedules
* Any difficulties
* Guest concerns
* Anything that affects the hostel

This program works best when volunteers are cooperative, punctual, and reliable, showing genuine interest in helping the hostel run smoothly—not just staying for free accommodation.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers contribute *5 hours per day, 6 days a week*, with *1 day off* that we arrange together each week. I’m very flexible and always try to match your plans, trips, or online work with the hostel’s needs, so you can enjoy the city and have a great experience—not just follow a rigid routine.

*Daily Flow*

Because we are a small hostel, the schedule is flexible and depends on how many volunteers are here and how tasks are divided. What matters most is that everything is done in a **fair, reasonable, and responsible way**, without rushing or doing too little.

*Morning Tasks*

Most cleaning and housekeeping happens **before 2 pm**, since everything must be guest-ready by check-in time. This includes:

* Cleaning common areas and bathrooms
* Making beds and preparing rooms
* Laundry (washing, drying, ironing, organizing)
* Keeping everything neat and in its place

*Afternoon Tasks*

After 2 pm, tasks are usually lighter and may include:

* Basic reception help
* Organizing simple activities
* Helping guests or selling transport tickets
* Light cleaning or tidying

*Flexibility & Fairness*

Flexibility works both ways—you get freedom in your itinerary, and we keep the hostel running smoothly together. The goal is a respectful balance: *reasonable task time, responsible work, good communication, and a positive experience for everyone.*
