I had the best time at the Quinta! Every day was a joy, even though it was quite hard work at times. There's a few different shifts so you can have a go at doing different things, and with all the dogs there's never a boring moment. Lea and Jutta were so lovely and I'll definitely be coming back 🐶

I truly loved the time I spent at the quinta with the dogs and the people. Before I arrived I was thoroughly informed about the amount of work I would be doing, so this didn't come as a surprise. Every question I had was also answered during a phone call. In the beginning it takes some time for the dogs to get used to you and to learn all of the routines, but the people there are very patient and encouraging which helped a lot! overall I would definitely recommend it if you really love dogs!

Short review: My experience at this place was disappoin-ting. The actual work conditions didn't match the description - I worked 7 days a week instead of 5, often over 8 hours a day with barely any breaks. The atmosphere was stressful and not supportive. I wouldn't recommend this place for volunteering.

Its a good experience but there are some points that's good to know before you go! the working hours are 6h/day (usually because of some dogs needs it ends up being 7h) and only 1 day off/week; the work it's pretty exhausting and you can't change shifts so be prepared to work all day if needed and have in mind that the dogs are the main reason you are there so you will have little to no time to tourist around… Other than that you will learn A LOT with this experience, about the dogs and also about yourself, and your help is really needed there :)

I loved to work with dogs and it was rewarding to get the trust of shy dogs. It's good to know that the working hours are 6h/day six times in a week, so there isn't so much time to see/travel around. The place is a little bit far a war of big cities, so a driving license/own car is a must. Also, there is a lot of different variations of shifts, so you will definitely find a shift that fits with you. Otherwise, I really enjoyed my time there and I will miss my time and all the dogs there!
