Program Details

We are a family-run Homestay in Thateng province. We have an organic farm where we grow coffee, tea, ginger, and so much more. We've been welcoming guests for the last 10 years (most of them are doing the Pakse Loop), and every now and then, we've had volunteers who helped us out.

We are looking for people who really commit to helping with what's needed and would like to stay for at least 1 month, helping with tasks related to the homestay running activities while engaging with our local community and tourists.

Activities & Shift

Your days will start at 7-8 am by helping clean the dining room, and preparing and serving breakfast to guests (+ washing dishes). Around 9:30 more tourists will arrive as is the time for the 1st Farm tour of the day, so we'll need you to welcome them, and offer and prepare coffee or tea for them. From 12:30 to 2 pm people from the tour will be back, so you'll have to prepare coffee or tea, help with lunch orders and washing dishes.

That's it! you'll have the rest of the day for yourself, you can walk around the village, the farm, watch the sunset, join the kids for night hunting or you can join us and the guests for Laos and Katu traditional cooking lessons or visit a waterfall with the kids.

Rules

-We can welcome 2 volunteers but you must be a couple or friends as we only have one private double-bed bedroom available for volunteers.

-Keep in mind that our homestay is comfortable and nice but also modest (cold shower and modest toilet)

-This is an ethnic village with different dressing and social codes, please dress and behave properly (women should try to have their shoulders covered, and skirts/shorts not too short, and ask permission to take pictures of people and kids).

-We want you to feel part of us, feel free to take fruit, use the kitchen/washing machine or ask for anything you might need help with.
