Activities & Shift

Would you like to live for a while in harmony with nature, rhythm, and simple beauty?

At Casale Hortensiae, nestled in the hills north of Rome, we’re looking for a volunteer who isn’t just seeking a task — but an experience, a connection, a shared path.

We’d love to welcome someone with a deep curiosity for sustainable living: how to waste less, reuse more, create beauty with simplicity — in the garden, in the kitchen, in a forgotten drawer. One day we work together, the next you’re free to explore magical places around us, or simply rest and breathe.

This is a space for mutual enrichment. It’s not about doing “for” but being with. Sharing meals, ideas, gestures.
Helping sort a room or pick fruit becomes a way to weave something tender and real.

You’ll also meet my husband, passionate about electronics, photography, hi-fi and computers — always happy to open up his world to someone curious.

Minimum stay: 15 days, to let trust and connection gently grow.

Accommodation: a comfortable private room in the main house (except July–August). In summer, the main house is rented, so accommodation is more in a camping setup — still very pleasant, as the climate is warm and life moves outdoors.
