It was an interesting experience! First of all, the tasks we had to do were super chill, sometimes they told us there was nothing to do and we could practice our meditation skills. Their main goal was teaching us about buddhism but sometimes it was difficult due to the language barrier and our western mindset. I will really miss the nuns, they were super welcoming and funny!

Staying 5 days at the temple will always be an unforgetable memory for me. We arrived without knowing much about buddhism, wanting to learn more about it and how to involve it in our lifes. We left with that hole filled, meeting so many kind people in the process. The nuns were lovely and made sure that we felt great all the time! There were not many tasks to do, which made us feel not very helpful, and there was a language barrier which ended up in some unexpected situations. Those should probably be the things to improve, but even though, I would absolutely recommend the experience!

This experience was very much needed. I learned a lot about how to be more mindful, and in the present moment. And this is something that I think a lot of travelers need to know more about. I was always stressing and thinking about my next destination, without really enjoying the present moment. But this is the first time I truly enjoyed and was more in the moment. The room is nice and clean, the temple is beautiful and the people amazing. I was mostly with the nuns, and they all felt like family to me. They're super sweet and caring, and always looking out for you. The tasks are chill.

Just spent a week here and it was amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and it was an amazing opportunity to learn about buddhism. Khu Bar Chai the Center is very knowledgeable and what he told us has really stuck with us. It was the most relaxing worldpackers experience with daily prayer at 7am and 7pm, then for the rest of the day we just helped out around the temple and spent time talking with Khu Bar Chai the Center and the other monks and nuns, spending time meditating and learning about the teachings of Buddha.

Learning about Buddhism at the Center Raksarjai was a truly unique and deeply touching experience. I was welcomed and treated with such kindness, respect, and generosity by the nuns and monks.I had the opportunity to help in the kitchen and to participate in a special Vipassana meditation event in the mountains. I will always cherish everything I experienced during this week at the temple and carry the lessons I learned into my daily life. Special thanks to dear nun Somboon, who translated and helped me a lot, and to kruba Win and master Chaiwat, who shared a great deal of Buddhist knowledge.

I have a lot to say but with only 600 characters, here are my takeaways: -Amazing Thai food for breakfast every day -friendly and kind people despite a language barrier (helped improve my Thai) -misconmunications about expectations due to language barrier -some difficult conversations with monks while applying Buddhism to our personal lives -a surprising amount of pressure from the nuns and monks to stay and become a nun myself -many photos and live streams taken of us farangs -An authentic rural Thai experience Thank you everyone for the opportunity!

My time at the temple taught me so many lessons that I'll cherish forever. This was an amazing opportunity to briefly live the lifestyle of a monk/nun, seeing the benefits and challenges, all while learning about buddhism. I would observe prayer twice a day (in Thai) and work for a few hours (sweeping, dishes, etc.). There was no pressure to work and I could relax, go on a walk or do whatever I would like. Very nice private room & bathroom too. If you have any interest in learning more about buddhism, definitely apply. I hope it has the same impact on you that it had on me :)

I left the temple with a heart full of gratitude for having been able to share those days with such wonderful and warm-hearted people. I found so much wisdom in the Zen Buddhism practised in this temple, that it would be wonderful to return :) I think that the dimension of the experience cannot be expressed in words, it is subtle and powerful at the same time. Thanks again for everything 🙏🏽🌞 ขอบคุณทุกท่านมากๆครับ

It's honestly hard to summarize everything I want to say in such a short space. This experience truly changed me, and I am beyond grateful for it. The people are so kind, open, generous and supportive. I was able to really feel what it's like to live in a local Thai community and learn about Buddhism—and most of all, about myself. A big, special thank you to Phutthamat for the wise words, deep conversations, smiles, and love. She made a real impact on my stay and on my life. The only “bad thing” is that i didn't stay longer. But one thing is certain: I will return.
