Empower, Educate, and Inspire: Volunteer with Us in Tanzania!
The experience
In the heart of Ngorongoro, on Ololosokwan Village, our secondary represents a second chance for many children. Built by pastoralists for pastoralists, our mission is to empower young minds, by providing them with the education they need to break cycles of poverty, forced marriages and early pregnancies. Many of our students are rescued from such situations and are given a chance to continue their education in a safe and supportive environment!

Program Details
Our secondary school offers Form I to Form IV ( equivalent to year 8 to 12 in Europe) and also runs a 3-month Pre-Form I programme from October to December. We are a mixed-gender boarding school, currently with 300 students.
Our core mission is to empower young minds, particularly young girls, by providing them with the education they need to break the cycle of early and forced marriages and early pregnancies often experienced in pastoralist communities. Many of our students are rescued from such situations and are given a chance to continue their education in a safe and supportive environment.
The school is located in a stunning rural and peaceful area! Immersed in a small but warm community that will welcome you with open arms! As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Maasai culture, engage with our amazing students, and contribute to a project that truly makes a difference.
As a boarding school, life here is vibrant 24/7, and there is always something to do!
Our school embraces transformation, self-reliance, and community. We equip students with critical thinking skills and nationally recognized qualifications, empowering them to become confident, self-reliant global citizens. Many of our graduates have gone on to become ambassadors for education, equality, and community development.
Beyond the traditional curriculum, our school has more than 19 clubs, including: permaculture; bee-keeping; Human Rights and many more!

Rules
Respecting local cultural norms is very important. Volunteers should dress appropriately by ensuring that shoulders, knees, and the stomach are covered at all times. This reflects the values and traditions of our community and helps maintain a respectful and professional environment for both students and staff.
During their free time, volunteers are welcome to explore the nearby towns and immerse themselves in the local culture. Additionally, we are happy to assist with arranging safaris or other exciting tourist activities to make your experience even more memorable.
For transportation, we are more than happy to assist you in finding the best option for your journey. Each case is unique, and we will work with you to determine the most suitable arrangement. In some instances, a private car transfer from Arusha to our location may even be possible. Whatever your needs, we’ll do our best to ensure a smooth and comfortable trip.
