Overall the experience was great, It was hard work at times but hours were well respected. Food was all provided and transport to the train station was provided when possible.

I stayed for 4 weeks at the eco village in the summer of 2025, this was my first Worldpackers trip and I can say it was an incredible experience. The host (Nikki, as well as her colleagues) was extremely welcoming and friendly, always ensured we had food to eat and made sure we were comfortable. The majority of the work being done was cleaning apartments for guests, with other general maintenance tasks being expected too, such as hanging up and folding washing, mowing lawns and cleaning the pool. I had no prior experience but every job was properly explained, so it was more than fine.

I had a great experience at AbruzzoBorgo. The place itself is absolutely stunning—nestled among beautiful mountains and rolling hills. The balance between work and exploration was perfect—I had plenty of time to soak in the beauty of the surroundings and explore the nearby attractions. Every view was breathtaking, and the peaceful vibes. Nikki was incredibly kind and welcoming. Even though she was often busy, she always made sure I knew exactly what to do each day, giving clear directions and support.

It was so nice getting to know Nikki, the host, and the other volunteers but unfortunately the work and stay were not what I was expecting. The tasks each day felt unorganized as to who was doing what and my expectations of the jobs were different than what we ended up doing. As for accommodations, Nikki's property is breath taking! Beautiful views, but as she did warn, very far from any sites/tourist attractions/potential activities. Also I was in a shared apartment, without locks on the bedroom doors. It ended up fine but just something to be aware of.

We had a great time at Nikki's place. She is very friendly and funny. Her food is delicious and we got lots of ice cream. She can be a bit messy which made communication harder sometimes. The work is mostly physical and included picking olive trees, cleaning apartments and gardening. She took us to a lot of places on our free days. However I would advise you to get yourself a car if possible because there is not really much to do without one. Overall we had an amazing time and learned a lot from this experience.
