Program Details

I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope and a passionate desire to make a lasting difference for children in need. I’m building something truly special near the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale District, Uganda,a school that serves over 100 children who otherwise might not have the chance to learn. These children are bright, eager, and full of potential, but they need help to break free from the cycle of poverty. That’s where you come in!

This initiative started in 2021, when I made a life-changing decision. Instead of using the land my mother had given me to build my own home, I chose to use those funds to create a nonprofit school for underprivileged children. We've managed to build four classrooms so far, but we need more hands on deck to truly expand, improve, and reach even more children.

I’m calling out to passionate, compassionate individuals who are ready to make an impact. We’re looking for teachers, volunteers, and anyone who wants to be part of something that will change lives. Right now, we have a small but dedicated team of two teachers and two cooks. But to continue growing, we need YOU. Whether you’re a teacher, an organizer, or someone with a passion for helping children, your skills and energy can make a real difference.

Imagine the joy of teaching children who are eager to learn, seeing their eyes light up when they grasp new concepts, and knowing you are part of a movement that’s changing the future for these kids. You’ll be working in a place of incredible beauty and peace, surrounded by nature, but most importantly, you’ll be helping children who need you!

Activities & Shift

We offer a flexible and rewarding volunteer experience! The program requires a commitment of just 18 hours per week, leaving you plenty of time to explore the beautiful surroundings of Lake Bunyonyi and enjoy your weekends off. You have the freedom to teach whenever it suits you and also help build our school.

You can teach any subject, skill, or language that you’re passionate about and that will benefit the children. Whether it’s math, English, science, or life skills, we welcome volunteers to share their expertise in whatever way inspires them. We want to empower these children by giving them a broad range of knowledge and skills, and your unique talents can make a huge difference.

This is a space for creativity and flexibility. You have the freedom to shape the teaching experience in a way that works best for you and the students. Your time and effort will have a direct and lasting impact on their education and future, and we’re excited to have you join us in this incredible mission!

Weekends off means you can enjoy the serene beauty of Lake Bunyonyi or explore the area, while the 18-hour weekly commitment allows you to balance your volunteering with personal time or travel.
