The experience
This project aims to restore degraded land by transitioning vegetation from seasonal plants to permanent forest cover. The area is initially dominated by short-lived plants that provide temporary ground cover but lack long-term stability.
Through soil protection, water conservation, and controlled land use, native pioneer species are established to improve soil conditions and create a suitable environment for forest growth. Permanent native trees

Program Details
This reforestation project begins with shade-grown coffee to stabilize soils and support local livelihoods. Native permanent trees are gradually introduced, transforming seasonal vegetation into a resilient forest system that enhances biodiversity and carbon storage.
Activities & Shift
Planting Team: Responsible for planting coffee and native species.
Maintenance Team: Watering, mulching, weeding, soil protection.
Monitoring Team: Record survival rates, growth progress, and biodiversity.
Support Team: Logistics, safety, and community outreach.
