This was truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to volunteer here, I felt so immersed in the culture and met such incredible people. Every day I got to experience something different, whether that be Spearfishing, or making pottery, or yoga at the healing waterfall, and every night I loved talking over dinner and singing together and sharing stories. Teaching the students was so rewarding and they brought me so much joy, thank you Mr. Ahyak for giving me this opportunity and showing me the beauty and heart of your community.

Absolutely loved volunteering here. It was my first time teaching English so was a little bit challenging, however the experience was something I'll never forget. Mr Ahyak is such a great host, this has been my favourite volunteer experience so far. I got to enjoy local foods, art, dance, ceremony, all for the exchange of teaching for 2hrs a day. The community that I was apart of was so kind and caring, they truely give you a new home and family to be apart of. Thank you!!

This wasn't first volunteering so was really sure how to do stuff but somehow managed with a little bit of help from everyone including local community. It was fun , I have learned and experienced a lot more than I thought! Might seemed pretty quiet person but deep down I was learning closely about Indonesian one part of the culture. I got attached to the kids so much that I felt bad on last day and wished to teach them more basic things in English. And Host and his team very nice, active ; the best part is the host contributing thru Worldpackers to the community to grow emotionally.

I had an absolutely amazing time at the lodge Cottage. I felt very welcomed and was truly a part of their community. A big thank you to Mr Ahyak but also to his nephews who made my time there unforgettable since they always tried to show us as much as possible of the area and drove us to a lot of places!! This was the perfect opportunity for me to get to know the culture of Lombok :) I applied for the position at the reception but since there are no guests at the guesthouse I ended up teaching which I absolutely loved!! I'm definitely going to miss this place.

That was a one of a kind experience for me! You are truly part of a local village in the middle of nowhere and it was the best thing ever! Big thank you to Ophan & Mas Jho who were like big brothers to us, 24/7 available, doing activities and taking us everywhere <3 I applied for the position at the reception and cleaning, mind you that the homestay only hosts volunteers and no guests, so in the end I worked at a local Warung, just talking to the staff to try to teach them a little english. They were so nice and i had so many laughs with them! Thanks for everything to Mr. Ahyak!

The whole experience was amazing and I enjoyed everything here. I teached children in different ages and levels of English which was a bit challenging but I have some experience to know how to handle that. I wish I had a bit more information about the class beforehand but after a day everything was good. The guys from my guesthouse were very helpful. They took all volunteers everywhere, showed good places and offered many activities. They definitely mak this experience memorable. Thank you to all who were a part of this journey with me :)

I enjoyed my time at Ahyaks place so much! I applied for the position as musician so it was my task to play music every night together with Ahyak and his family and friends. That was a big pleasure for me and I'm very grateful he offers this opportunity to work in music. Ahyak really appreciates live music and is a great gitarrist and singer himself. Also he takes care of his volunteers in offering activities like going to springs during which it is very easy to connect between the volunteers. I highly recommend this volunteering, it was a beautiful experience for me!

This was my first worldpackers experience and I'm very happy that I started my journey here. Mr Ahyak's family was super nice. They invited us to local events and even organized trips for us. I extended my stay at the lodge because I enjoyed it so much. I ended up teaching English to elementary school kids, and I loved it so much. The children are amazing and enthusiastic about learning.

Volunteering for this program has been an incredible experience. I did not expect to leave from there with a heavy heart, because the family not only makes sure you have everything you need, but considers you part of their family too! Also, the place itself provides the perfect atmosphere for volunteers to become friends. I helped in the kitchen and at the cash desk of the restaurant, which was fun for me as I learnt bahasa Indonesia and taught English to the beautiful people working there. Terima kasih for this time!! I will miss having coffee 24/7 and making music with you!
