The experience

Be part of an extraordinary journey that blends cultural immersion with supporting the preservation of traditional crafts, empower local youth in the heart of the Dong Van Global Geopark, where you can immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Hmong, Red Dzao, Tay and Lo Lo tribes. We offers a unique opportunity for volunteers, responsible travelers, interns, participants, and learners to engage in meaningful activities


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 29 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: Homestay experience. Daily meals, including any special meals . Cost for each activity such as tea picking, tea processing workshops, cultural workshops, and other experiences. Local guides, instructors, and artisans conducting workshops and activities. Cost for transportation on program site

Program Details

1. Experience Life as a Local Farmer:
• Tea Picking: Harvest tea leaves from the ancient Snow Shan tea mountain ranges.
• Tea Processing: Learn traditional methods of processing tea, including smoke tea in bamboo tubes, white fairy tea, white peony tea, dragon tea, and puerh tea.
• Hemp Fabric Making & Batik Art: Participate in creating hemp fabric and experience the intricate batik art of the Hmong tribe.
2. Cultural Workshops: Traditional Craft Making
• Hemp Fabric: Learn the traditional methods of making hemp fabric, including spinning, weaving, and dyeing.
• Bamboo Paper: Discover the ancient art of bamboo paper making.
• Local Handicrafts: Participate in crafting local handicrafts, preserving the cultural heritage of the region.
3. Community Development Projects
• Aid in the revival of traditional craft products such as bamboo paper, hemp cotton, incense, and silver.
• Help revive and promote traditional culture and skills.
• Educate the public about handicraft producers and their products.
• Pattern Research: Work with artisans to research and innovate traditional patterns.
• Assist local artisans in attending international trade fairs to showcase new products and find new markets.
• Organize exhibitions on ethnic traditions to raise awareness and empower artisans.
4. Vocational Training and Capacity Building
Provide education and training programs for local youth, empowering them to take on leadership roles within the community and tourism industry through a microfinance program.
5. Sanitation and Hygiene Initiatives
• Sanitation Projects: Help locals get access to clean, safe toilets and educate them on maintaining hygiene.
• Health Education: Conduct workshops to educate the community on the importance of sanitation and hygiene for better health.
