What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: € 465 Per week

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: Food, shared accommodation, meeting you at the nearest airport, airport collection and drop-off, weekly transport to and from your project, donation to your project, pre-departure support, in-country team, 24- emergency help and more


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Program Details

Our community and youth upliftment volunteer projects in Knysna:

The Counselling and Social Work Volunteer project supports an NPO providing counseling, training, and workshops for individuals and groups in need. Volunteers work with social workers, psychologists, and community workers to address issues like family stress, depression, grief, abuse, addiction, HIV-related concerns, conflict resolution, and parenting. Programs also focus on support for men, women, and families.

Or

The Sports Development Experience is perfect for sports enthusiasts! Volunteers coach at onsite or at crèches, schools, and community programs while gaining insight into sports administration in the NPO sector—all while enjoying the sunshine. Sports like cricket and hockey are seasonal.

OR

Teach and support children in Knysna’s underserved township communities along South Africa’s stunning Garden Route. Volunteers assist in crèches, primary, and high schools, helping with English, Physcial Education, Music, Drama, Dance, Social and Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Accounting, Technology, Computer Skills, and reading groups in school libraries.

OR

Our Youth Development and Social Work volunteer project in Knysna, South Africa, began as a safe drop-off center for children living on the streets. It has since expanded to support at-risk youth, providing mediation, training, and guidance between families and schools. Volunteers work alongside qualified childcare and social workers to help reintegrate children into education and equip them with life skills. Ideal for those interested in social work, psychology, education, or the arts, this project empowers youth to overcome challenges and build a brighter future.

Rules

Volunteers working with vulnerable children must provide a criminal background check from their home country and complete a medical questionnaire. Our projects are taken seriously, and all volunteers must agree to our Terms and Conditions, available via email.
