My stay with Sumer in Mussomeli was unforgettable. From day one I felt more like family than a volunteer. The work never felt like work – it felt like helping at home with people who genuinely care. Sumer is an amazing host: open, kind, and full of great conversations, and everyone he introduced me to in town was just as welcoming. Thanks to them I didn't just stay in Mussomeli, I lived it. My experience volunteering and living with Sumar has been amazing. Sumar is an extremely kind, funny and loving man who made me feel like family the second I met him. The work I did was exactly what we discussed before my arrival. The hours were very flexible and there was no pressure to get jobs started or finished. We did a lot of fun activities like visiting the beach for the day, going to the markets, Sunday lunch at the good kitchen, hanging out with the locals, bbqs and much more. Over the past 4 weeks I have made some amazing friends who are now like family to me.
